Nova Coat : Papercut Patterns

I love this coat whenever I see it posted. It is beautiful. The pattern came together easily and I had no trouble the construction. Even my mitered corners when installing the lining lined up and came out beautifully, despite being a typical pain point for me

If it sounds like I’m building this up to be too good to be true you are right, kind of. The coat I made is beautiful, I’m just not sure I like it on me. The cocoon shape of the coat doesn’t hang on my pear body shape very well, since I made the size to fit my hips. I may try to re-work the pattern to accommodate my 2-3 sizes smaller bust, but the pattern lines are so distinct I’m afraid I’ll ruin them in trying to make this pattern fit my body.

In conclusion, beautiful pattern, beautiful coat… is anyone a 42 hips with a more balanced silhouette that needs a blue coat? Made in boiled wool/viscose blend with a stretch satin lining, both in the color ‘Turkish Tile’ from Mood Fabrics.
