Vintage Simplicity 7275 - 1985
This pattern is a fairly simple one. A wrap dress with a button waist band and blousy dolman top. I was surprised to find that this is a bit of a faux wrap dress, as the skirt is actually sewn fully in the round and the crossover at the waist simply makes a large pleat in the dress.
Starting this in isolation, I have been shopping in my stash. I had about a half a yard less of this fabric than recommended by the pattern, but with a little bit of creative puzzling and shortening the skirt by a few inches I was able to just squeak it in. The fabric is a lightweight cotton/rayon voile, which I was a little bit worried would be see through in strong daylight. However the skirt is quite full and manages to avoid that particular concern.
I was able to find some perfect vintage buttons in my stash to complement the lens and bar patterns in the fabric.
